There is sunbathing… and then there is soundbathing
This summer, I’m opening my private studio in Caparica for intimate gatherings dedicated to deep rest, sound healing, and connection. A chance to pause, reconnect with yourself, and experience my sound healing practice without committing to a full course, retreat, or 1:1 session.

After a busy season of travel, teaching, and supporting clients, I felt called to bring back sound baths this summer in Costa da Caparica, just outside of Lisbon, Portugal.
These small gatherings offer a space to slow down and step away from the demands of daily life for a few hours.
Using sound bowls and other therapeutic instruments, you’ll be guided into a state of deep relaxation where the body can rest, the mind can settle, and the nervous system can begin to unwind.
No experience is required for these sound baths.
Simply arrive, get comfortable, and allow yourself to be carried by the sounds and vibrations.
Mats, blankets, cushions, water and herbal tea will be provided.

On the surface, sound healing is a deeply relaxing experience. The sounds and vibrations of the bowls and other instruments help calm the mind, soothe the nervous system, and create a sense of peace and wellbeing.
On a deeper level, sound healing works through vibration.
Everything in nature vibrates, including our bodies. The instruments used during a sound bath create frequencies that can influence our physical, energetic, mental, and emotional states.
The vibrations and sound frequencies can help alter brain wave activity, encouraging a shift from the active thinking state that dominates much of daily life into slower brain wave states associated with meditation, creativity, deep relaxation, and expanded states of awareness. This is one of the reasons many people experience a profound sense of stillness, insight, or restoration during a session.
From a yogic perspective, we are more than just a physical body. The ancient teachings describe five layers of our being, known as the koshas, ranging from the physical body through to the energetic, mental, emotional, and more subtle aspects of ourselves. Sound healing has the potential to support balance across these different layers.
It is also believed that when prana (vital life force energy) becomes stagnant, we may experience tension, discomfort, emotional heaviness, or a sense of feeling stuck. The vibrations of sound can help create movement where there has been stagnation, supporting a greater sense of flow, ease, and connection.
Every experience is unique. Some people simply feel rested and relaxed. Others experience insights, emotional release, vivid imagery, deep stillness, or a profound sense of inner peace.
Group sound baths offer a beautiful introduction to the practice and an opportunity to experience the benefits of sound healing in a shared space. For those looking for a more personalised and therapeutic approach, 1:1 sound healing sessions can be tailored to your individual intentions and needs. Sessions are available both in person and remotely, with many clients finding online sessions just as impactful as those received in person.
There is nothing you need to do during the session other than lie down, get comfortable, and allow yourself to be carried by the sounds and vibrations.
